The pumped free product is to be contained in a 500 gallon
surface storage tank approved for the containment of flam-
mable .liquids (Class IA). The permitting process has been
initiated through the San Joaquin County Building and Fire
Prevention Departments. The Air Pollution Control District
has been contacted to obtain required permitting for the
storage tank vent and discharge from an air stripper.
4. The water recovery system control panels, water treatment
system, product storage tank will be enclosed in a fenced
compound. The exact location of the compound has not been
determined but will likely be constructed between or behind
the existing buildings on the property. The recovery tank
will be placed within a concrete double containment structure
(See Figure 2) .
3
i
5. The option of using the 4 inch well GT--2 as an additional
pumping well may be exercised to expedite the clean up
operation. The pumped groundwater from this well would be
processed through the carbon filtration system prior to
discharge.
6. The initial recovery from the existing small diameter
monitoring wells will be evaluated over the first weeks of
operation to determine whether a pumping well designed for
the site specific conditions should be installed. Data
obtained from the pump test, sieve analyses of soil samples
and additional information obtained during the ongoing site
.. assessment would be used to design and locate this well.
