(AGE). The AGE Letter was written in response to SJC/EHD
correspondence dated September 29, 2004, and proposes a time schedule for
document submittals and initiation of remediation activities at your site. SJCIEHD has
the following comments.
SJC/EHD appreciates the clarification that the Report of Findings for the installation of
monitoring well MW-8,which was due for submittal by October 12, 2003, and expected
to be submitted with a Problem Assessment Report(PAR), was actually submitted in the
"Quarterly Report—Third Quarter 2003", dated June 30, 2004. The PAR still has not
been submitted.
AGE has requested approval of the following schedule of work:
11/30/04 Preparation of PAR, including a Site Conceptual Model (SCM).
12/30/04 Preparation of a Remedial Action Work Plan (RAWP)for soil
vapor extraction (SVE) remediation.
02/01/05 Installation of SVE System (commencement).
SJC/EHD approves the following schedule of work:
11/30/04 Submittal of an SCM. Include in the SCM a PAR and a Feasibility
Study comparing at least two remedial alternatives. Also include
data supporting the change in the calculated soil vapor extraction
radius of influence (ROI) from 25 feet, reported in the May 2002
Soil Vapor Extraction Pilot Test Report, to 47 feet, now being
reported in Appendix A, 'Site Background Information', beginning
with the Second Quarter 2003 Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring
Report.
12/30/04 Submittal of a Corrective Action Plan (CAP).
01/30/05 Submittal of a work plan for the remedial option justified in the
CAP.
02/30/05 Initiation of remediation.
