PROCEDURES <br />' Field work was performed in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services - - <br /> Environmental Health Division's (PHS-EHD) guidelines for the sampling of ground water <br /> monitoring wells and Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) guidelines for investigation <br /> Iof underground storage tank sites <br /> I . 2 1 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES <br /> Ground water sampling of MW1 through MW7 was conducted on 07 May 2001 For the sampling <br /> event a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in the seven wells <br /> relative to the tops of the well casings The ground water elevations and gradient were determined <br /> Ifrom these data(Table 1) <br /> After recording water level measurements, a disposable plastic bailer was used to purge monitoring <br /> wells MW1 through MW7 of standing water Approximately 4 gallons of water (minimum of 3 <br /> water-casing volumes)were removed from MW I, MW2 and MW3 and approximately 6 gallons of <br /> water were removed from MW4 through MW7 Ground water temperature, pH and conductivity <br /> I were measured at one-gallon intervals during purging using a Hydac water analyzer Field sheets and <br /> data are included in Appendix A Purged water was stored on-site in labeled, 55-gallon <br /> DOT-approved drums <br /> I <br /> 22 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br />' Water samples were collected from each purged well using new disposable plastic bailers Each <br /> water sample was transferred into three 40-Till VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid <br /> as a sample preservative and into one 1-liter amber bottle without added preservative After <br /> collection, the samples were properly labeled, placed in a chilled container and transported under <br /> I <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
