The average radon concentration was 2.53pCi/L. The EPA action level for radon is 4.0 pCi/L.
Based on this information, radon is not considered an environmental concern to the subject
property.
9.0 RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the results of Dames & Moore's Phase I Environmental Site Assessment of the subject
property, it appears that further investigation is warranted at this time. In order to determine if
previous repair services and current onsite conditions at Spaulding Equipment Company have
impacted soil and/or groundwater, a sub-surface Phase II site investigation including soil and
groundwater sampling should be performed in the vicinity of the septic tank system and
groundwater(or tapwater) samples should be collected from the onsite sup—y well.
I----
In order to determine whether the responsible parties are addressing the acid discharge at H & M
Transport and the drywell complaint at Agri-Feeds, Dames & Moore recommends completing a
file review regarding the status of the two facilities.
In addition, we recommend that files pertaining to the onsite well that may be available at the
County Health Department be reviewed to obtain the following information:
• Well construction information;
• Well construction date;
• Well water quality records; and
• • Well water production records.
J:\05930191\ESA.doc 18
