• • <br /> 31 August 2001 <br /> • AGE-NC Project No 97-0343 <br /> IPage 5 of 6 <br /> I process Emissions from the engine will be routed through two catalytic converters to maximize the <br /> destruction of hydrocarbon vapor <br /> 3 2 1 Field Measurements <br />' During the vapor extraction pilot test, VW-3 will be utilized as the extraction well The extracted <br /> air flow will be monitored using a Dwyer DS-200 flow sensor The flow rate will be determined <br /> from the measured differential pressure and the piping diameter using a nomograph Flow rates will <br /> I be measured and documented in standard cubic feet per minute(scfin),inches of water of differential <br /> pressure Induced vacuum measurements will be recorded from wells VW-1, VW-2 and MW-7 <br /> utilizing Magnehelic gauges The Induced vacuum will be monitored for a stabilized value, inches <br /> of water, during the pilot test Hydrocarbon concentrations in the well effluent stream will be <br /> measured at regular Intervals A PID will be utilized for field measurements <br /> I3 2 2 Collection and Analysis of Vapor Samples <br /> I• A total of four vapor samples will be collected at two-hour Intervals from the Inlet of the extraction <br /> well to measure concentrations of extracted hydrocarbon vapor The samples will be collected in <br /> ITedlar bags using the organic vapor analyzer as an air pump <br /> Following sample collection,the samples will be placed in a covered container and transported under <br /> I chain-of-custody to McCampbell Analytical Inc (MAI)in Pacheco,California Each sample will be <br /> analyzed within 72 hours for TPH-g, TPH-d, BTEX with methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE), and <br /> fuel additives in accordance with EPA Methods 8015M, 8020, and 8260, respectively <br /> I <br /> 3 3 EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION <br /> IAll sampling tools used for sample collection will be thoroughly rinsed with clean water after being <br /> washed with a solution of Alconox All down-hole drilling and sampling equipment will be pressure <br /> Iwashed prior to starting the boring <br /> I <br /> IAdvanced GeoEnvi ron mental,Inc <br /> I <br />
