06 August 2002
• AGE-NC Project No. 97-0343
The analytical results of water samples'collected in May 2002 are summarized on Table 2. The
laboratory reports(MAI Lab I.D. Nos. 0206032-001 A through 0206032-004A), QA/QC report and
chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix B.
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected from the site, AGE finds:
• Ground water flow at the site on 31 May 2002 was inferred to be generally toward the
northwest at an average gradient of 0.003 feet/feet. Ground water elevations at the site
decreased in wells MWI through MW7 an average of 0.96 feet since the first quarter 2002
monitoring event.
• TPH g,TPH-d, BTEX and fuel additives were not detected at or above laboratory reporting
limits in the ground water samples collected from wells MW4 through MW7;the historically
fuel-impacted wells MW1, MW2 and MW3 were not purged or sampled during the May
2002 monitoring event due to insufficient amounts of water in these wells. Maps depicting
• the approximate distribution of dissolved TPH-g, TPH-d and benzene, interpreted from the
February and May 2002 monitoring events, are presented in Figures 4, 5 and 6.
• The lateral extent of the fuel-impacted ground water has been defined.
E5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of the environmental activities recounted in this report, AGE recommends
continued quarterly monitoring of the ground water monitoring wells on-site. The next monitoring
event should be performed in August 2002. In addition,AGE recommends the preparation of a work
plan to: 1) define and assess deep fuel-impacted groundwater and 2) conduct further feasibility
studies as directed by the EHD by letter dated 17 June 2002.
6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory.Evaluation ofthe hydrogeologic conditions
at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from a limited number of available data
points (ground water samples)and subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points. No
other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional interpretations, opinions and
recommendations contained in this report.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
