Mr. Gary Reents
Page 2
June 24, 1988
is approximately 0.3 miles wide at the upper aquifer. During the next
phase of work, information will be obtained to determine more precisely
the length and depth of this plume. An additional phase of work may
be required to determine whether the upper aquifer is connected to
a lower aquifer thus allowing upper aquifer water to reach the aquifer(s)
where irrigation and other wells are expected to be found. It should
be noted that recent monitoring of the older and most recent groundwater
monitoring wells (Nos. 1 through 11) indicated a more westerly direction
of groundwater travel than had previously been anticipated. This thought
was kept in mind during the planning of this next phase of work.
If you have any questions, please call me or Douglas Ries at (916)
920-3518. It is my understanding that Southwest Hide Co. will approve
this work plan in writing to your agency.
Sincerely,
L.A.
