The abandonment procedures were completed on May 1, 1996. The following letter <br /> work plan discusses the well abandonment procedures as they were executed and completes <br /> all required work for final site closure. <br /> Field Procedures <br /> Prior to commencement of work, a Tailgate Safety Meeting was held to ensure that the proper <br /> site safety precautions were observed. This safety meeting was conducted in accordance with <br /> the site-specific health and safety plan. <br /> Abandonment activities were performed on May 1, 1996 by representatives of Gregg Drilling <br /> and Testing, Incorporated (a C-57 licensed driller), under IT supervision. A well <br /> abandonment permit was obtained from your office as well as an encroachment permit from <br /> the City of Stockton, prior to commencement of field activities. <br /> The well box and cover at each of the five wells was hammered out using heavy hand tools. <br /> Following well box removal, a tremie pipe was inserted immediately into each boring, with a <br /> Portland Cement grout poured in and finished to one foot below grade.
