These wells are no longer in use and closure requirements <br /> have been met (as per our phone conversation on February 8, 1996). The following letter <br /> work plan discusses planned well abandonment procedures and disposition of the waste <br /> materials generated during completion of abandonment activities. <br /> Field Procedures <br /> Prior to commencement of work, a Tailgate Safety Meeting will be held to ensure that the <br /> proper site safety precautions are.observed. This safety meeting will be conducted in <br /> accordance with the site-specific health and safety plan. <br /> Abandonment activities will be performed by representatives of Gregg Drilling and Testing, <br /> Incorporated (a C-57 licensed driller), under IT supervision. A well abandonment permit will <br /> be obtained from your office as well as an encroachment permit from the City of Stockton, <br /> prior to commencement of field activities. <br /> The well box and cover at each of the five wells will be hammered out using heavy hand <br /> ' tools. Each well will then be over-bored to its total depth, utilizing an eight-inch outer <br /> diameter hollow-stem auger attached to a B-61 drill rig.
