INTERNATIONAL TECENOLOGY CORPORATION
1, MW-2 and MW-3 have a total depth of 60.0 feet, while the vapor monitoring wells VW-A
and VW-B, have a total depth of only 30.0 feet below grade. Cuttings from the augering
procedure (PVC well screen and casing, sand, grout, bentonite seal) and cement/metal well
box debris will be installed in a 10 cu yd roll-off bin using a bobcat loader. The roll-off bin
will be stored in the parking lane of one of the adjacent roadways, at the discretion of the
- City of Stockton. Equipment decontamination water will be installed into 17-H, DOT
certified, 55-gallon drums as produced. Waste water will be stored adjacent to the roll-off
bin. Waste materials will be stoned on-site until an appropriate disposal facility is selected,
based on analytical results.
Following well box removal, tremie pipe will be inserted immediately into each boring, with
a grout mixture of ninety-five percent Portland Cement and five percent bentonite poured in
and finished to ground level. The volume of sealing material emplaced during abandonment
will be equal to or greater than the volume to be sealed. Following the abandonment
procedure, Water Well Driller Reports (WWDR's) will be completed for each of the wells
and will be enclosed with a final letter summary report of activities. The appropriate WWDR
copies will be forwarded to the Department of Water Resources in Redding, California.
Disposal Sampling
During abandonment a composite sample of well debris from the boring cuttings will be
collected. A sample of the equipment decontamination water will also be collected- The
samples will be analyzed by McCampbell Analytical of Pacheco, California for the purpose of
predisposal profiling. The planned soil sample analyses include: total petroleum hydrocarbons
(TPH) as diesel fuel, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX), and reactivity,
corrosivity, and ignitability (RCI). The planned water sample analyses include TPH as diesel
fuel and BTEX only. Upon receipt of the analytical results, IT will arrange for the transport
of solid and liquid waste materials appropriate disposal/recycling facilities. Copies of the soil
and water sample analytical reports and the waste transportation and disposal documents will
be provided to your office as part of the final activity summary letter.
Documentation
Following completion of the planned well abandonment and associated disposal activities, a
summary letter report will be generated to document final closure activities at the site.
Copies of this letter report will be forwarded to your office and to the Regional Water Quality
Control Board, Central Valley Region.
IT Corporation is a wholly awned subsidicuy of International Technology Corporatton
