, <br /> In the event of serious emergency, call 911 for transport of workers to St. Joseph's Medical <br /> Center, located at 1800 N. California in Stockton, California. <br /> 3.11.4.3 Fire and Explosion <br /> When fire or explosion appear imminent or have occurred, all work activities will cease. <br /> The Emergency Coordinator will assess the severity of the situation and decide whether the <br /> emergency event is or is not readily controllable with existing fire suppression equipment on <br /> hand. Fire fighting will not be done if the risk to operating personnel appears high. The Fire <br /> Department will be called (dial 911) in all situations in which fires or explosions have <br /> occurred. <br /> If the situation appears uncontrollable, and poses a direct threat to human life or the <br /> environment, a warning will be administered to all personnel to secure their emergency <br /> equipment. If the chances of an impending explosion are high, the entire site will be <br /> evacuated. <br /> The Emergency Coordinator will alert all personnel when all danger has passed, as <br /> determined by the Fire Department. <br /> Situations which will activate notification of other emergency contacts are: <br /> • A fire which causes or could cause the release of toxic fumes <br /> • The fire could possibly spread to off-site areas <br /> • Use of fire extinguishers and suppressants does not result in immediate fire <br /> containment <br /> • An imminent danger exists that an explosion could occur, causing a safety or <br /> health hazard <br /> • An imminent danger exists that an explosion could ignite other hazardous <br /> substances at the facility <br /> MW09-28-92/ENG/9783.MER 35 <br />
