Operations last longer than one week the <br /> , drilling equipment inspection must be repeated on a <br /> weekly basis <br /> The location of all underground utilities must be ascertained and confirmed prior to the start <br /> Of drilling operations In addition to obtaining the utility locations from the client, local <br /> utilities, or Underground Services Alert (USA), the IT Geophysics group or a qualified <br /> ' subcontractor, will make a utility survey of each drilling point The utility survey shall <br /> include a magnetometer survey Documentation that nearby utilities have been marked on the <br /> ground, and that the drill site has been cleared shall be in the possession of the Project FC (or <br /> their qualified designee) prior to commencement of the intrusive investigation at that point of <br /> the site. <br /> All operations involving the use of powered drilling rigs will follow generally accepted <br /> drilling practices One person will be assigned the responsibility of Lead Driller. Additional <br /> personnel will assist with equipment as needed The Lead Driller will be responsible for <br /> operating the drilling ng and ensuring safety <br /> General rules associated with drilling rig operations will be as follows: <br /> • An "Exclusion Zone" will be established around the drilling ng using barricade <br /> tape or other type of physical barrier; <br /> • All operators and crew members will be familiar with the ng operations and will <br /> have received practical training; <br /> • Procedures for equipment and tool decontamination will be followed. <br /> • Hard hats are required when working within the drilling rig work zone, <br /> • Goggles or safety glasses with side shields will be wom when operating power <br /> tools, sanding, grinding, hammering, or filing; <br /> • No loose fitting clothing, jewelry, or free long hair is permitted near the drilling <br /> rig or moving machinery parts, <br /> • Hands and loose clothing must be kept away from moving parts of the <br /> machinery; <br /> • Drilling must cease immediately if combustible gas concentrations greater than <br /> S0% of the LEL are detected at the borehole; <br /> • A first aid kit and fire extinguisher will be available at all times. Firefighting <br /> equipment should not be tampered with and should not be removed for other <br /> than the intended firefighting purposes or for servicing; <br /> • The offgomg driller will inform the oncoming driller of any special hazards or <br /> ongoing work that may affect the safety of the crew; <br /> MZA)5409-94/UST/94-0W3 bk 43 <br />
