INTERNATIONAL TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION <br /> Pacific Bell facility UE042 presently contains three 25,000 gallon diesel UST's which supply <br /> fuel to electric generators <br /> 2.3 SITE HISTORY <br /> The county and city have few records of the site The site has been owned by AT&T from <br /> the mid-1940's until 1963 when a grant deed was issued to Pacific Bell <br /> In December 1990, two diesel UST's (300 gallon and 550 gallon) were closed in place by <br /> filling with a cement slurry Several borings were hand bored beneath the tanks and total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons expressed as diesel were found in the soil as high as 22,000 ppm <br /> The present investigation is being performed due to this finding <br /> 2.4 SITE GEOLOGY/HYDROGEOLOGY <br /> The site is underlain by unconsolidated fluvial sediments ranging from clays to sands and <br /> mucks, peats and other organic-rich soils These in turn overlie other fluvial deposits <br /> Groundwater beneath the site occurs at about 40-50 feet and flows to the northeast This <br /> flow direction is dominated by infiltration from the Port of Stockton slough and other <br /> offshoots of the San Joaquin River (located to the west and southwest of the site) and <br /> groundwater withdrawal from numerous water supply wells (located to the east of the site at <br /> a distance greater than a mile). <br /> i <br /> t <br /> 3 <br /> f <br />
