INTERNATIONAL TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION <br /> 3.0 PLAN OF ACTION <br /> The goals for performing this investigation at the Pacific Bell facility located at 345 North <br /> San Joaquin Street in Stockton, California were the following <br /> I Identify whether the soil off-site has been impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons If <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons are detected, initially quantify the concentrations in soil. <br /> 2 Identify whether the groundwater has been impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> off-site If petroleum hydrocarbons are detected, initially quantify the <br /> concentrations in groundwater <br /> 3 Determine the direction and gradient of shallow groundwater flow through the site. <br /> 4 Initially characterize the subsurface geology of the site area <br /> 5 Evaluate all results and recommend what further action at the site may be <br /> warranted <br /> tb Coordinate all field work with Pacific Bell, as well as, local and regional <br /> regulatory agencies. <br /> To accomplish these goals, IT drilled and installed two monitoring wells in the downgradient <br /> direction and one well m the upgradient direction of the area of the two UST's that were <br /> closed in place (Figure 2 & 3) Where applicable, field investigation methods followed the <br /> Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Evaluation and Investigation of <br /> Underground Storage Tank Sites, 10 August 1990 The following section describes the <br /> procedures that were utilized in completing the investigation. <br /> 1 <br /> 4 <br /> i <br />
