INTERNATIONAL TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION
3.0 PLAN OF ACTION
The goals for performing this investigation at the Pacific Bell facility located at 345 North
San Joaquin Street in Stockton, California were the following
I Identify whether the soil off-site has been impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons If
petroleum hydrocarbons are detected, initially quantify the concentrations in soil.
2 Identify whether the groundwater has been impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons
off-site If petroleum hydrocarbons are detected, initially quantify the
concentrations in groundwater
3 Determine the direction and gradient of shallow groundwater flow through the site.
4 Initially characterize the subsurface geology of the site area
5 Evaluate all results and recommend what further action at the site may be
warranted
tb Coordinate all field work with Pacific Bell, as well as, local and regional
regulatory agencies.
To accomplish these goals, IT drilled and installed two monitoring wells in the downgradient
direction and one well m the upgradient direction of the area of the two UST's that were
closed in place (Figure 2 & 3) Where applicable, field investigation methods followed the
Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Evaluation and Investigation of
Underground Storage Tank Sites, 10 August 1990 The following section describes the
procedures that were utilized in completing the investigation.
1
4
i
