Weber Avenue, Third Floor
Post Office Box 388
Stockton, CA 95201-0388
Re: Workplan for Former Fabricare Site
711 South San Joaquin Street, Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Knoll:
IT Corporation (IT) is pleased to provide you with this workplan to perform environmental site
.closure services at the above-referenced site. The proposed scope of work outlined in this
correspondence is based on your April 24, 1996 letter to Marian Cecile Mohr Fry and on our
site visit-on April'26, 1996:
.. ,; , .=i,-.:: .
During'the site;visit, dike'(3);groundwater 1n tloring wells were_found'oh the property. The
wells were`opened sand measured for depth=to-water and' total depth. The rvells are accessible
and appear to be fully functional'.
As requested, the groundwater from these three wells will be sampled for the possible presence
of gasoline hydrocarbons. If laboratory results from the groundwater samples indicate that
gasoline hydrocarbons are not present, then a formal request for site closure can be made and
the wells can be abandoned in-place. To accomplish these work steps, IT will perform the
following scope of work consisting of three tasks.
SCOPE OF WORK
Task 1. Groundwater Sampling
The three on-site groundwater monitoring wells will be monitored and sampled. An IT
Engineering Technician will visit the site and for each of the wells will measure depth-to-
groundwater and -total depth,' purge at least three well volumes while measuring the pH,
temperature,..electricai conductivity and turbidity of the effluent, and sadiole in-laboratory-
supplied'glassware-.' Samples will be transported under Chain-of-Custody`manifest to a state of
California certified analytical laboratory for analysis of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH)
as.gasoline and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX) by EPA Modified Methods
801518020.
IT Corporation is a wholly owned mihnidiary of International Technology corporation
