"The County shall coordinate transportation planning with other
governmental agencies through the San Joaquin County Council of
Governments . "
The project may conflict with the transportation planning
efforts of the March Lane task force .
The project will eliminate 30 acres of irrigated agricultural
land. The extension of public water supply and sewage disposal
systems to the project site may induce additional urban develop-
ment on the east side of State Route 99 . The conversion of
additional prime agricultural land for the induced urban develop-
ment would be considered a significant impact , and it would
increase the potential for disruptive impacts on other land
that is retained in agricultural use .
Mitigation:
Mitigation measures and alternatives are to be developed in the
Environmental Impact Report .
Initial Study Page 16 (GP-86-22/ZR-87-42 )
