M KLEINFELDER ASSUMPTIONS AND CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES This scope of work,and the attached cost estimate is based on the following assumptions: • If weather, access, or site conditions restrict our held operations, we may need to revise our fees. We would contact }fou for authorization, however, before proceeding with any additional set-vice. • This proposal will be adequate to obtain authorisation from the PHS/E1-I13. If a .more comprehensive workplari is necessary, charges for workplan preparation will be incurred. • Adequate \fork space and access will be provided. Kleinfelder will attempt to advance the soil borings at the proposed locations. If the drilling equipment cannot be positioned, alternative drilling locations or sampling methods should be investigated. The borings are to be drilled with a truck-mounted drill rig equipped with hollow-stem augers. If alternative drilling methods or concrete cutting are required, additional costs may be incurred. • No respiratory protection or shoring will be necessary. • Soil and water generated during the drilling and sampling will be the :responsibility of the client, and disposal costs have not been included in our estimate. Soil cuttings will be placed on plastic and covered adjacent 'to the chosen bowing locations. Water generated from equipment decontamination rinseate will be placed :in 55-gallon drums and.. left adjaccrit to the boririg locations. 'Disposal or remediation options for the soil and Water can be assessed once analytical results have been received, at an additional charge. Kleinfelder can assist the client \with the disposal of soil acid water if necessary, at an additional charge. • The client will be responsible for locating all underground utilities and other subsurface structures that could interfere with drilling, operations or be damaged during drilling. Failure to locate such lines or,structures-will be the sole responsibility of the client: Underground Services Alert (USA) at 1-800-642-2444 provides this service :free of charge for major utility lines. Kleinfelder can make contact with USA for a site visit. if requested. • Groundwater is anticipated at a depth of approximately 55 feet below ground surface. IF El-01ndwater is encountered at greater or lesser depths, costs will be adjusted accordingly. • The proposed scope of work and cost estimate is based on the previously described scope of work.
