This plan also details the proper emergency procedures including emergency
response and first-aid. The purpose of this H&S is to describe the anticipated physical and health
hazard controls and procedures to help minimize the accident and injury risks associated with field
activities at the subject facility.
The provisions specified herein are intended to conform to applicable State environmental and
occupational health and safety regulations. These provisions will apply to field personnel who
participate in the field work. Compliance with this H&S plan is required of workers and third
parties who enter the field operation areas during field activities. Field personnel will continuously
monitor site conditions to help limit the risk that the field work will endanger surrounding on-site
and off-site personnel.
1.1 Site Information
Fresh Start Bakeries Contact: Mr. Dan Bailey
920 North Shaw Road 209-462-3610
Stockton, California
1.2 Site Background
The subject site is currently a bakery. Preliminary information indicates that the site was
undeveloped until the construction of the Fresh Start Bakeries facility in 1987. At present, there
is no information to indicated that the site soils are contaminated. The principal chemicals used
at the site are various acidic and basic solutions for cleaning and disinfecting process equipment;
anhydrous ammonia used in the refrigerant system; hydraulic fluids for lubrication of equipment;
rodent bait and pesticides for control of insects; minor amounts of solvents for maintenance; and
compressed gasses for welding operations. Three active clarifiers and a septic leach field system
are present at the facility.
1
