T Health and Safety Plan July 18, 1994
Law/Crandall Project Golden Final
2.0 ASSIGNMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The following sections briefly describe the responsibilities which will be employed during the
limited subsurface assessment activities at the site.
2.1 Field Supervisor/Site Safety Officer
The field supervisor is responsible for field implementation of the H&S plan and is also the Site
Safety Officer (SSO). These responsibilities include communicating specific H&S requirements
to site personnel and consulting with the office health and safety coordinator as field issues arise.
The SSO in conjunction with the office Health and Safety Coordinator (as, necessary) will
implement emergency actions, at the site, upgrade or downgrade levels of protection, perform area
air monitoring, and collect personal samples. The SSO is responsible for completing and
submitting an accident report within 24 hours to the office health and safety coordinator, in the
event of an injury or near miss. The field supervisor has final authority at the site.
2.2 Site Personnel
Site personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with site safety and health
requirements. Field personnel will continuously monitor site conditions to help limit the risk that
field work will endanger surrounding on-site and off-site personnel.
2
