Health and Safety Plan July 18, 1994 <br /> Law/Crandall Project Golden Final <br /> • Notify site personnel to leave work zone. <br /> • Use heavy equipment to smother flames with clean site soil or clean fill, <br /> if readily available. <br /> • Use fire extinguishers. <br /> • Use clean decontamination water. <br /> • Evacuate work zone or fire area, call facility emergency number, as <br /> required. <br /> • Evacuate work zone or fire area, call 911. <br /> • Remain at the site while waiting for Fire Department as long as it is safe <br /> to do so. <br /> • Notify the Project Manager, Health and Safety Officer, or Department <br /> Manager. <br /> • Determine with appropriate facility, Fire Department personnel ability to <br /> continue work. <br /> • Notify site personnel of decision to continue work or to stop work. <br /> 6.3.2 Large Fire/Explosion <br /> In the event of an uncontrolled or large fire or explosion, the field supervisor will: <br /> • Immediately sound evacuation alarm <br /> • Call 911, or facility emergency number <br /> • Take head count <br /> • Move personnel off site to wait for Fire Department <br /> • Notify Project Manager, Branch Manager, or Health and Safety Officer <br /> • Determine, in conjunction with facility personnel and Project Manager, <br /> whether to send site personnel home <br /> • Remain at location, if necessary for fire department or facility <br /> investigation. <br /> 19 <br />
