Scotts Ave.
Stockton, CA
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed "Additional
Site Assessment Report" dated November 1, 2005, and "Quarterly Report—Third
Quarter" dated November 4, 2005, prepared by Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc.
(AGE)for the above referenced site.
The highest concentrations of contamination in the soil at this site appear to be in the
area of soil boring B2 that was placed in the area of the former dispenser location.
There is no monitoring well in this area but the grab water samples from B2 and B4
indicate that groundwater contamination also exists in this area. The only confirmed
groundwater contamination is in the area of monitoring well MW2. Water samples from
the other monitoring wells for the site have been mostly non-detect for contaminants.
The extent of the shallow groundwater contamination appears to be limited. The vertical
extent of the groundwater contamination appears to be limited based on the water
sample results from CPT1. The reports recommend continued quarterly groundwater
monitoring and EHD concurs with that recommendation.
In addition, feasible alternatives for remediation of the contaminated soil and
groundwater at the site should be evaluated. Future reports should recommend
alternatives to be evaluated and a time schedule for conducting any investigation
necessary to evaluate the alternatives.
If you have any questions contact me at (209) 468-3449.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Margaret Lagorio, Supervising REHS
Unit IV
c: CVRWQCB —Jim Barton
AGE —Jo'l M.
