Work Plan Addendum
PREM DOR
433 Scotts Avenue, Stockton,California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Dr. Sonya F. Olbrantz of Masonite International/PremDor, Advanced
GeoEnvironmental,Inc.(AGE)has prepared this work plan addendum for 433 West Scotts Avenue,
Stockton,California(site). The revised scope of work includes the advancement of two soil borings
two ground water monitoring wells and one paired, cone penetrometer test boring for the collection
of soil and ground water samples. The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1.A plan of the site
is illustrated on Figure 2. Additional site background information is provided in Appendix A.
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has directed by letter dated
10 March 2005 that revisions be considered for the AGE prepared Additional Site Assessment Work
Plan and Site Conceptual Model, Dated 15 February 2005 (AGE, February 2005) and that a work
plan addendum be prepared. (Appendix B). This work plan has been prepared in accordance with
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) guidelines for the investigation
of underground storage tanks (UST) sites.
AGE concurs with the EHD's recommendation for the proposed soil brings to be advanced to a total
depth of 35 feet bsg (as opposed to 30 feet bsg) as there were small concentrations of select
hydrocarbon compounds detected in the 35-foot soil samples collected from soil borings MW2,B1
and B2.
AGE concurs with the EHD's recommendation to complete the soil bring proposed south of MW-3
on Lincoln Street as a single completion ground water monitoring well.
AGE concurs with the EHD's recommendation to complete the soil bring proposed east-northeast
of MW-2 on-site,as a single completion ground water monitoringwell and move the location further
away from the former UST location.
Based on soil and grab ground water sample information from soil borings B5 and B6 provided in
the Alta Em, Inc. -prepared Site Assessment Report, dated 22 June 2004 (Alta Em, June 2005) for
the adjacent site at 375 W. Hazelton Avenue, Stockton California(Appendix C), the vertical and
lateral extents of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water at the northeastern portion
of the PremDor site are defined(Figure 2). Soil bring B5 was drilled to 23 feet bsg and soil bring B6
was drilled to a total depth of 20.5 feet bsg, soil samples a grab ground water sample were collected
at each location.Hydrocarbon compounds were not detected in the soil samples analyzed from each
boring or from the ground water sample collected from B5. Small amounts of toluene, ethylbenzene
and xylenex were detected in the ground water sample collected from B6,but all concentrations were
below State of California Department of Health Services (DHS) Maximum Containment Levels
(MCL) for drinking water.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
