i Jy
a 1'
14 April 2005
AGE-NC Project No. 02-0950
After review of the Alta Em,June 2005 report,AGE still recommends a soil boring,to the northwest
of the site,to further delineate soil and ground water contamination. There remains a data gap in the
lateral definition of the soil and groundwater northwest of soil boring B 1.Based on the local ground
water flow direction the soil boring location will be moved west of the originally proposed location,
onto City of Stockton property(Figure 2).
2.0 SCOPE OF WORK
The proposed changes to the original work plan (AGE, February 2005) are as follows:
• The original work plan proposed a soil boring approximately 30 to 35 feet south of well
MW-3;in the parking lane of Lincoln Street. At the request of the EHD,this soil boring now
will be completed as single completion ground water monitoring well to a depth of 35 feet
below surface grade (bsg), to allow repeated sampling at a location upgradient from the
former UST location(Figure 2).
• The original workplan proposed a soil boring approximately 35 to 40 feet east-northeast
of well MW-2, on-site. At the request of the EHD,this soil boring location will be moved to
approximately 55 to 60 feet towards the east-northeast of well MW-2,and will be completed
as a single-completion ground water monitoring well to a depth of 35 feet bsg, to allow
repeated sampling at a location down gradient of the former UST location(Figure 2).
• The original workplan proposed a soil boring approximately 40 to 45 feet northwest of well
MW-1, in the off-site parking/lumber yard area. Based on EHD's concerns, this soil boring
will be moved west of its originally proposed location, to the sidewalk of Lincoln Street,
approximately 45 to 50 feet north of well MW-3;the total depth will be increased to 35 feet
bsg (Figure 2).
• The original workplan proposed a soil boring approximately 65 to 70 feet southeast of well
MW-2, in the apartment building parking lot. This soil boring will remain in the same
location but at the request of EHD, total depth will be increased to 35 feet bsg(Figure2).
The ground water monitoring wells proposed above will be installed and sampled as described in
the AGE prepared Additional Site Assessment and Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan, dated
15 April 2003 and approved by EHD letter dated 23 April 2003. Figure 3 depicts the proposed
ground water monitoring well-construction. All other field work will be performed as described in
AGE, February 2005 unless noted above.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
