(ERM) in the first quarter
of 1995 at Santa Fe's Scotts Avenue Facility in Stockton, California.
Quarterly Status and Activities
On February 23, 1995, ERM personnel collected groundwater samples from
monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-2 A pallet containing heavy machinery
prevented the technicians from sampling morutoring well MW-3 that day.
To conclude the quarterly sampling event for the fust quarter of 1995, ERM
returned to the site on March 23, 1995 to sample MW-3 and measure depth to
groundwater in all three monitoring wells.
Table 1 presents the measured groundwater elevations relative to mean sea
level (MSL) at the three monitoring wells. Calculation of the hydraulic
gradient at the site indicates that the water table is fairly flat (hydraulic
gradient = 0.007 ft/ft) with a northeast flow direction. A potentiometric
surface map prepared from the groundwater measurements is enclosed with
this letter The depth to groundwater at the site is approximately 5 feet higher
than it was m January 1991.
A member of the Environmental
