i <br />'J The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company l .K" <br /> 5770 South Eastern Avenue J IJ L 15 I '11 <br /> Los Angeles, California 90040 ENVIRONI MN 4 HEALTH <br /> (213) ss9-091P <br /> July 10, 1991 <br /> File. 01001915 - 47 <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> 445 North San Joaquin Street <br /> P O Box 2009 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> 1 <br /> RE: Addendum to Final Site Assessment Reported dated July 1991, for the site at <br /> 1033 East Scotts Avenue, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Sirs - <br /> Enclosed, for your review, is the Addendum to the Final Site Assessment Report for our <br /> site located at 1033 East Scotts Avenue in Stockton The Addendum details the results of <br /> the soil sampling performed at the site on May 2, 1991 The objectives of this sampling <br /> were (1) to better estimate the volume of contaminated soil in the ground, and (2) to <br /> determine whether or not the soil is a hazardous waste This information will be essential <br /> for final selection of a remeidation alternative for the site The results of the <br /> investigation are summarized below <br /> As a result of the May 2, 1991, investigation, we estimate a total of 1,800 cubic yards of <br /> product-affected soil at the site Our measurements of the moist soil density of samples <br /> collected on May 2 indicate that 1,800 cubic yards of soil will weigh approximately 2,970 <br /> tons A sample containing 4,300 mg/kg of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) was <br /> submitted to the laboratory for a fish bioassay This TPH concentration is among the <br /> highest concentrations of TPH detected in samples collected from the site to date The <br /> results of this bioassay show the product-affected soil to be non-hazardous as defined by <br /> California Code of Regulations,Title 22, Article 11, § 66696 <br /> Please provide us with your comments on the Addendum at your earliest convenience <br /> A Santa Fe Southern Pacific Company <br />
