This workplan contains a summary of the site history, preliminary soil and <br /> L� groundwater analytical data, proposed workscope to be completed to further define the lateral <br /> L and vertical extent of contamination in the soil and groundwater, and a projected time schedule <br /> \} for the completion of work at Former Thiemann's Service located at 106 West Second Street in <br /> 4� Ripon, California (Figure 1). <br /> SITE LOCATION <br /> The project site is located on the southwest comer of West Second Street and Stockton Street <br /> in Ripon, California. The site location is in a primarily commercial and.residential area. The <br /> property is owned by Mr. Gerald Thiemann and the site contact is Mr. Gerald Thiemann. <br /> Groundwater flow at the site has been found to fluctuate from a southeast to east-northeast <br /> direction. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> In March 1991, three underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the site. Analysis <br /> of soil samples collected from the excavation indicated that high concentrations of petroleum <br /> (� hydrocarbons were present in soil beneath the tanks (AquaGeosciences, September 1993). <br /> Groundwater was not encountered in the excavation. The location of the former USTs is shown <br /> III on Plate 2. <br />
