: U
Working To Restore Nature
Cj Task 3 - Well Surveying, Monitoring, Development, and Sampling
The top of the wellhead will be surveyed and tied into the existing wells. Measurement of depth
1 to water in the wells will be completed to evaluate the direction and magnitude of the
groundwater gradient beneath the site. The new well will be developed using surge and bail
techniques until the produced water is relatively sediment free. Prior to the collection of
groundwater samples, a minimum of three well volumes (casing and sandpack) will be purged.
Temperature, pH, water elevation, and electric conductivity will be measuredand allowed to
L stabilize. Water samples will be collected using disposable bailers, one dedicated to each well.
Groundwater samples collected from all monitoring wells will be submitted using chain-of-
LI custody record to a State-certified laboratory for analysis of TPHg and BTEX using EPA
methods 5030/8015/8020, respectively. Purge water will be stored in 55-gallon drums approved
for hazardous liquid storage pending laboratory analysis.
Task 4 - Report Preparation '
A Problem Assessment Report(PAR)will be prepared for submittal to SJCPHS. The report will
summarize field and laboratory procedures as well as all analytical data. The lateral and vertical
extent of soil and groundwater contamination will be , to the degree possible, defined and
recommendations for additional investigation if necessary will be included in this PAR. f
PROJECTED SCHEDULE
The soil boring and well installation will require one fu 11 day to be completed. The field work
can be scheduled when the necessary permits are obtained. Once the field work is complete and
all laboratory results have been received all data will be analyzed and the PAR will be prepared.
L' Preparation of this report will take approximately three weeks. RESNA can initiate work at the
U site after receiving authorization to proceed.
150078\REP0RT3\WP-0894.FNL 5
