r
/RES.V
Working To Restore Nature
aWORKPLAN
Task 1 - Permitting and Scheduling
This task includes obtaining the necessary permits for drilling and well installation from San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department, scheduling field personnel and equipment,
locating underground utilities, and performing any other necessary field preparation and job I
start-up activities. j(
Task 2 - Installation of One Groundwater Monitoring Well
One soil boring will be drilled in a location assumed to be downgradient from the former
r, underground storage Tanks (Plate 2). The boring will be advanced to a depth of approximately d
t 41 feet using 10-inch O.D. hollow stem augers. Drilling will be conducted by a State-licensed
(CSn drilling company. A field geologist will be present to log all drill cuttings and soil
samples. Descriptions of soil types encountered, sample collection intervals, and well
Fes, construction details will be recorded on boring/well logs and included in the PAR. Soil samples
will be collected at five foot intervals and selected samples will be submitted for laboratory
py analysis of TPHg and BTEX.
All drill cuttings will be placed on and covered with plastic and stored on-site pending laboratory
f
results. Selected soil samples will be sent using chain-of-custody record to a State-certified
laboratory for analysis of TPHg and BTEX by EPA methods 8015/8020, respectively. The
boring will be completed as a groundwater monitoring well. The monitoring well will be '
( 1 constructed of 4-inch inside diameter PVC well screen and casing. A 0.010-inch well screen `
slot and 4/2/12 mesh sand pack will be used. Neat cement will be used to seal the well in t
(} accordance with California Well Standards (December 1981). To protect the integrity of the 1
L well, a locking, water-tight well plug will be installed on the well and a water-tight, locking
wellhead labeled "monitoring well" will be concreted over well. Typical well construction
n details are shown on 'Plate 4.
150078\REP0RT3\WP-0894.FNL 4
1
