,4 [
Well Survevine
. The tops of the new wellheads will be surveyed and tied together with existin wells
S g
Measurement of depth to water in all wells will be completed to evaluate the direction and
magnitude of the groundwater gradient beneath the site
Groundwater Well Develo ment and Sam lin
The new groundwater monitoring wells will be developed using surge and bail techniques until the
produced water is relatively sediment free Prior to the collection of groundwater samples from
the monitoring wells, a minorum of three well volumes (casing and sandpack) will be purged.
Temperature, pH, water elevation, and electric conductivity will be measured and allowed to
stabilize Water samples will be collected using disposable bailers, one dedicated to each well.
Groundwater samples collected from all monitoring wells will be submitted using chain-of-
custody
hain-ofcustody record to a State-certified laboratory for analysis of TPHg and BTEX using EPA
methods 8015/8020 Purge water will be stored in 55-gallon drums approved for hazardous
liquid storage pending laboratory analysis
Pilot Test
The vapor extraction wells will be used to conduct a pilot test to determine the efficiency of vapor
extraction as a remediation technique and the range of influence of the vapor extraction system
The details concerning the pilot test will be discussed under a separate workplan along with
proposed pilot testing for groundwater remediation
Re ort Pre aration
Following receipt of laboratory results, a report will be prepared summarizing the findings of the
subsurface investigation for submittal to the client and PHS/EHD The report will summarize
field and laboratory procedures as well as all analytical data and contain recommendations for soil
and groundwater remediation pilot tests.
All work described in this workplan will be performed under the direct supervision of a California
Registered Ctviil Engineer All drilling activities will be performed under the supervision of a Smith
Emrironmental field geologist and all site work will be performed in accordance with the Quality
Assurance(Quality Control Plan and the Site Safety and Health Plan included in RESNA's "Workplan
for Site Investigation" (August 1994) Two monitoring well installation permit applications, one for
the on-site wells and one for the off-site wells, are contained in Attachment I with a check for the
permit fee
• wrl943731
npOrft+Wpa49s&C 3
•
SMTH
