0 • <br /> • 14 August 2001 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 98-0511 <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br /> Up to three soil samples will be collected from the boring for laboratory analysis Soil samples for <br /> laboratory analysts will selected based on visual observations of petroleum hydrocarbon impact, <br /> organic vapor meter(OVM)readings,changes in lithology,and/or at the capillary fringe Select soil <br /> samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified <br /> laboratory for the following constituents <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g) by EPA Method 8015 Modified, and <br /> • Purgeable aromatic hydrocarbon compounds including benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene, and <br /> total xylene (BTEX) and fuel additives including di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary- <br /> butyl ether(ETBE),methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE),tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME), <br /> tertiary-butanol (TBA), ethylene dibromide (EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) by <br /> EPA Method 8260B <br /> Laboratory reports for soil sample analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality <br /> control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report <br /> with the findings and recommendations <br /> • 3 3 MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION AND DEVELOPMENT <br /> Following completion of the pilot boring (Section 4 1), a ground water monitoring well will be <br /> instaIIed in the boring It is anticipated that the well will be screened to the base of the boring, from <br /> approximately 8 to 28 feet bsg <br /> Following completion of the monitoring well, well elevation and location will be surveyed by a <br /> California-licensed surveyor <br /> No sooner than 72 hours after the well installations, the well will be developed to maximize water <br /> flow into the well and minimize the amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during <br /> pumping or bailing Procedures for well installation and development are presented in Sections 4 2 <br /> and 4 3, respectively <br /> 3 4 GROUND WATER MONITORING PROGRAM <br /> Ground water monitoring and sampling of the the monitoring well(MW-9)will be incorporated into <br /> the existing quarterly monitoring program Groundwater momtonng activities will include recording <br /> depth to ground water measurements and collection of ground water samples Ground water sample <br /> collection procedures are described in Section 4 4 <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
