FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California
Registered Geologist Procedures for the advancement of probe borings, soil sampling, groundwater
sampling, equipment decontamination, and boring abandonment are outlined below
4 1 PROBE BORING ADVANCEMENT
Probe borings will be advanced using AGE's van-mounted Geoprobe 5400 direct-push probing unit
equipped with 1 25-mch probing rods The Geoprobe advances soil probe borings using a hydraulic
or pneumatic hammer to drive soil and ground water sampling tools to specified depths
42 SOIL SAMPLING PROCEDURES
Soil samples will be collected using Geoprobe push-driven 2-inch diameter discrete and/or
continuous core samplers fitted with four six-inch long brass sleeves or a four-foot long Teflon
sleeve, respectively Upon removal from the sampler, the sample sleeve is separated with a clean
. knife The exposed ends of the sleeve will be covered with Teflon sheets, capped and sealed with
Advanced GeoEnvironmentai?Inc.
