. 16 May 2001 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 98--0511 <br /> Page 3 of 5 <br /> The soil probe borings will be advanced to an estimated depth of 50 feet bsg to assess the vertical <br /> extent of impacted soil Total depths of probe bonngs will be based on field observations and field <br /> screening using an organic vapor monitor(OVM) <br /> Soil samples will be collected from four of the probe borings at five-foot intervals from ground <br /> surface to the total depth At the former UST location, soil samples will be collected at five-foot <br /> intervals beginning at 35 feet bsg(base of MW-5)to the total depth of the boring Field procedures <br /> for advancement of probe borings and collection of soil samples are presented in Sections 4 1 and <br /> Section 4 2, respectively <br /> Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a California Department of Health Services (DHS)- <br /> certified laboratory for <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA <br /> Methods 5030 and 8015 Modified, <br /> • Volatile aromatic hydrocarbons-benzene,toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) <br /> • with methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 8020, and <br /> • Fuel oxygenates di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), MTBE, <br /> tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME) tertiary butanol (TBA), methanol and ethanol in <br /> accordance with EPA Method 8260 <br /> Laboratory reports for soil analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control <br /> (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with <br /> findings and recommendations <br /> 3 3 IN-SITU GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS <br /> At the total depth of each of the soil probe bonngs,grab ground water samples will be collected and <br /> analyzed to determine the vertical extent of impacted ground water In-situ ground water sample <br /> collection procedures are presented in Section 4 3 <br /> Selected groundwater samples will be analyzed by a DHS-certified laboratory for <br /> • TPH-g in accordance with EPA Methods 3510 and 8015 Modified, <br /> • BTEX with MTBE in accordance with EPA Method 60218020, and <br /> . • DIPE,ETBE,MTBE,TAME,TBA,methanol and ethanol in accordance with EPA Method <br /> 8260 Modified <br /> Advanced GeoEnvi ron mental,Inc <br />
