Smith TechnoloSITE SAFETY PLAN
yy
FACILITY BACKGROUND
In October 1988, one 1,000-gallon unleaded gasoline underground storage tank (UST) and
all associated piping and dispensing equipment was removed and disposed of. Laboratory
analysis of soil samples collected from beneath the former UST location indicated the
presence of detectable concentrations total petroleum hydrocarbons. After the tank was
removed, the area of the former tank was backfilled.
WORKPLAN
Task One:
Supervise the installation of three soil borings to depths of approximately 20 feet.
Two soil samples and one groundwater sample will be collected from each boring
from areas which exhibit physical indications of contamination. Samples will be
analyzed for BTEX and MTBE (EPA Method 8020), TPHg (EPA Method 8015
Modified), and total lead.
PAGE
