The purpose of this investigation Was to sample and test for potential <br /> soil contamination related to the former underground fuel tank at the site. <br /> The scope of Work authorized by Mr. Boyd Patten included; review of the methods of <br /> laboratory analysis of the soil samples (laboratory test reports from Canonie Environmental <br /> dated July 21, 1986 and August 27, 1990); evaluate the results obtained and make <br /> recommendations regarding final closure of underground fuel tanks; and preparation of this <br /> letter. All assessment methods employed are in accordance With underground tank regulations <br /> and guidelines set forth in California Code of Regulations(CER)Title 23,Chapter 3, CCR Title 22, <br /> Article 11,and outlined in the L.UT.T.Field Manual(SWRCB, 1989),as Well as applicable County <br /> of San Joaquin regulations. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> It is our understanding that two underground fuel tants Were removed from the 1013 <br /> Shaw Road facility in June of 1986. The underground tanks were of 8,000 and 10,000 gallon <br /> capacity and Were used by the former owner for gasoline and diesel fuel storage. The fuel <br /> tants Were apparently pumped dry at the time you purchased the facility in 1984 and Were <br /> never used in your operation. <br /> LABORATORY REPORTS REVIEW <br />
