Sr. REHS, CUPA programs <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> 1868 E Hazelton Ave, Stockton, CA 95205 <br /> (209) 468-2986 <br /> gbackus(asigov.org <br /> Re: Thatcher Chemical Tank Closure, 9/24/20 <br /> Dear Mr. Backus <br /> As previously discussed, the Thatcher Company of California-Stockton (AKA Thatcher <br /> Chemicals), located at 1010 Industrial Dr, Stockton, CA 95206 (CERS ID 10183569, Facility ID <br /> FA0010456) maintained four poly tanks, ranging in size from 5,000 gallons to 15,000 gallons. <br /> The tanks are designated as tanks A, B, C & D and held corrosive liquids, including sulfuric acid <br /> and sodium hypochlorite (see table 1, below). <br /> The tanks were longer needed and were decommissioned by Thatcher Chemical personnel by <br /> cleaning with water until rinsate and surface pH inside the tanks was above 2 and less than 12.5. <br /> The tanks were then cut into pieces, these pieces were placed on one or more pallets (as <br /> shown in Table 1) and held for tank closure certification, prior to disposal.
