•
4 Based on data obtained to date, the groundwater plume that
exists beneath the Canteen site has migrated offsite to the
south/southeast toward MW-1 on the U.S . Chemical property This
is consistent with gradient data obtained from both sites
5 The divergent hydraulic gradient data obtained during prior
samplings on the U S Chemical property may be due to the very
flat gradient that is evident from the latest work
RECOMMENDATION
An analysis of the latest work supports the previous data
obtained on the Canteen site, which shows a consistent gradient
to the south/southeast . Therefore, the following recommendations
are made
I Obtain water samples from monitoring wells #z & #2 on the
U S Chemical site and analyze for BTEX & TPH-G If the results
show no evidence of those compounds, the wells can be destroyed
2 If BTEX or TPH-G are detected in either or both of those
• wells, they should be kept active for further monitoring
activity
3 Depending upon the results of the water sampling, additional
soil/groundwater investigative work should be performed to
delineate the lateral extent of the groundwater plume workplans
for future investigation & remediation will depend on the results
of the proposed water sampling.
If you have any questions concerning this brief report, please
give me a call
Sincere y,
Wm J er & Associates
cc r an Stevens
chael Infurna, SJCo EHD
Thomas Miazaga
Harding Lawson Associates
