Racei.ved 6/25/03 9-56, 5106397762 -, APPLIED EARTH SCIENOES, Pago 4
06/25/2003 06 43 5106397762 US FILTER WESTATES PAGE 04
3
•
The adsorption capacity of an activated carbon is determined in part by the number of
adsorption sites that area available; the number of adsorption sites in turn being almost
a linear function of the surface area of the carbon. Increasing the iodine number of a
carbon by 10% (from 900 to 1000) will however increase the adsorption capacity of the
carbon by significantly more than 10%. The increase will be 20 —40% depending upon
the material being adsorbed and the adsorption conditions. Therefore higher iodine
numbers mean the carbon will have an increased internal surface area, more sites for
adsorption and consequently improved performance when put into service,
REGULAR SERVICE
Westates' OSHA trained crew arrive on--site, vacuum spent carbon into DOT containers,
transport spent carbon by certified hazardous waste hauler to Westates' Parker, Arizona
Facility The spent carbon is processed and a certificate of reactivation is issued
END OF RENTAL SERVICE
Westates' OSHA trained crew arrive on-site, vacuum spent carbon into DOT containers,
transport spent carbon by certified hazardous waste hauler to Westates Carbon's Parker,
Arizona Facility The spent carbon is processed and a certificate of reactivation is issued
EXPERIENCED SERVICE CREWS
Westates' service personnel are full time, trained employees All service technicians have
undergone the following
40 hour OSHA (S hour refresher as needed)
Forklift operator certification
Confined space entry
Physical exams and drug screens
HM-181 training
First Aid/CP R
plus additional training
Safety and customer service is our goal
ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT/SERVICES
PREFILTERS, HIF-14
PRICE. $945/unit
