As you can see soil borings are not going to be
advanced to a monitoring well. We'll only convert them to pre-packed temporary well to grab groundwater
samples from them, then we'll decommission them by grouting all the way to the ground surface. For Alameda
County for instance the permit fee for installing temporary wells, is refunded after the well is destructed. With
that being said, do we still need to pay$125 for each soil boring as well? Also is the destruction fee applicable in
case of soil boring destruction?
To answer your other question about how long soil borings will be in the ground, we haven't scheduled that
work yet but it'll be done right after taking one round of grab groundwater sample, since that's the only purpose
of putting those temporary wells in the ground.
I also have a copy of our work plan attached for your reference. Rommel and I will be calling you shortly to
discuss this further and answer your questions.
Regards,
From: John Yoakum [EH] [mailto:JYoakum@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Thursday, August 16, 2012 9:19 AM
To: Kalbassi, Sheida
Cc: Salinas, Rommel
Subject: RE: Well completion volumes - Stockton [352515]
Hello Sheida,
am going to answer your last three questions first, and then discuss the money last.
All the wells that are on the same parcel can all go on the same permit. A packet showing the
well details should be part of a separate work plan packet that is sent with the application.
One check is acceptable, though if you change your mind and want your money back, that
creates a big problem, since some of the money is spent during the permitting process.
A complete packet has a permit application, money for the permit, a Licensed Contractor
Declaration form (signed by the drilling company), a Master File Record signed by the person
that will receive all future bills, a work plan showing all planned work with maps showing where
the work is to be performed.
8/16/2012
