If you are not working for the property owner, then an access agreement is required. It must
be signed by the property owner.
If you are working in a street, then an encroachment permit is required. It must be signed by
the city or government agency that owns the road.
The project is a little complicated, which complicates the money.
If the project is on more than one parcel, then it requires more than one permit.
Though you list that there are 4 soil borings, these all get converted to monitoring wells.
Therefore you end up with seven (7) wells and then four (4) destructions. The borings seem to
be the process of installing the wells.
If all the borings get converted to monitoring wells then I would not need a separate fee for
borings, only wells.
The fees seem to be $375 for the Master File Record (MFR), $375 for the Inspection Activities,
and $125 times 7 for the wells which equals $875. Therefore, $375 plus $375 plus $875
equals $1625.
You also mention the 4 wells that are to be destroyed. That would also be part of this permit, if
they were to be done soon. (Let me know how long those wells are to be in the ground.) If
they are added to this permit, then that is $125 times 4, which equals $500.
$500 plus $1625 equals $2125. That is the total permit fee. (This amount assumes that all soil
borings are converted to wells and the (boring) wells are to be destroyed relatively soon after
they are installed.)
Before you send in the application packet, email me back to let me know the details on how
the conversion of the borings to wells are to be done, if all the wells are going to be on one
parcel and how long the temporary wells will be in the ground.
Again, I need more information before I can give you an exact amount that the permit will cost.
Johnny Yoakum
From: Kalbassi, Sheida [ma iIto:She ida.KaIbassi@arcadis-us.com]
Sent: Thursday, August 16, 2012 8:15 AM
To: John Yoakum [EH]
Subject: FW: Well completion volumes - Stockton [352515]
Hi Johnny,
I am working for Rommel on getting the permits for installing three (3) Groundwater monitoring wells
and four(4) soil borings (converted to pre-packed temporary wells and destructed after groundwater
sample collection). I have couple questions about applying for the well permits as listed below:
a) How much is the total fee for applying for these permits?
b) Wells come in different depths and construction details, do we need to fill out separate forms
8/16/2012
