Goldberg heard a rumor of water supply contamination <br />at Lathrop. I told him that RWQCB is taking action against Occidental <br />Chemical Co. for groundwater „Two <br />private water supplies were examined _y RW CB and detectable amounts of <br />DBCP was �`oun�Co commune suFp w_ as inv_o�ved. Fie levels did not <br />present an acute hazard to the u ers, ut they were informed by SES and <br />advised to not use the water for drinking as a precautionary measure. <br />Richard Rose (492-9095) RWQCB was named as a possible contact if more <br />details were needed. <br />This information was relayed to Wilcoxon, Browning, Redlin and Weisser. <br />Homer Vaughn said that one home 500 ft. fror. theowed 6 ppb DBCP, <br />and the Libby Owens Food Company one quarter mile away showed 1=wpb. <br />This difference was attributed to the direction of the groundwater move- <br />ment with respect to the wells. Homer estimated that as man,,. aGi <br />homes or wells might be affected The local health department was requested <br />to notify the owners of the a"fected wells, but they declined.
