The <br />Interim Status Documents authorize the continued operation of the facili- <br />ties under interim status conditions pending final review and decision of <br />the Department on the issuance of Hazardous Waste Facility Permits. <br />Our purpose for issuing the Interim Status Documents is to allow the con- <br />tinued operation of the facilities until final hazardous waste facility <br />permits are issued. The Interim Status Documents should not and cannot be <br />construed to be confirmation by the Department that the facilities are <br />constructed and operated in accordance with all applicable California <br />statutes and regulations at this time. The next step in the process will <br />be the submittal of operational plans by the facility operators for review <br />and approval.
