2.0 WELL SPECIFICATIONS
2.1 Conditions
The work to be performed includes the construction, development and
performance testing of one groundwater extraction well. This will include the
drilling of one geologic pilot borehole prior to the well installation. The well will
be of filter pack type construction using Air Rotary Casing Hammer (ARCH)
method.
The following items of work, which support the extraction well construction
program, are included in the scope of work to be performed by the Contractor.
o A 215 foot geologic pilot borehole will be drilled for the extraction well by
the use of a mud rotary drilling rig capable of split spoon (standard
penetration sampler equipped with a sample retaining spring) sample
recovery. Split spoon samples will be recovered at 5 foot intervals starting
at a depth of 100 feet.
o The drilling contractor shall provide a portable mud pit or a portable
settling pit and water supply pit at the well site. The volume of the pit shall
be determined by the Contractor.
o Drilling water will be made available to the Contractor from the J.R. Simplot
plant but will need to be trucked to the actual well installation site.
o During the construction of the extraction well, the drilling contractor shall
provide the pumping equipment, piping, hose, fittings, valves and power
necessary to discharge the well development and testing water to a
location within 100 feet of the well site as directed by the supervising
geologist.
7
