prepared and applied in accordance with the directions of, and to the satisfaction <br /> of the supervising geologist, and shall remain in the well for a period of at least <br /> two hours. <br /> In the event that the test pump is installed after the well has been <br /> disinfected, all exterior parts of the test pump coming in contact with the water <br /> shall be dusted with a chlorine compound as directed by the supervising <br /> geologist. <br /> 4.1.3 Well Performance Guarantees <br /> It is the general objective of these specifications to achieve a sand-free and <br /> efficient well. The Contractor will guarantee his work in terms of sand production <br /> of the well in accordance with the following: <br /> Sand production shall be less than five (5) parts per million (ppm) within 15 <br /> minutes at the maximum test capacity determined by the step drawdown test. <br /> Sand production shall be measured by a centrifugal sand separator similar to that <br /> described in the Journal of the American Waterworks Association, Vol. 46, No. 2, <br /> February, 1954. For purposes of the sand guarantee, sand production shall be <br /> defined as the average concentration measured over a three minute period <br /> beginning with the 12th minute after pumping is commenced. <br /> 4.1.4 Plumbness and Alignment <br /> The Contractor shall guarantee that the wells shall be sufficiently straight <br /> and plumb to permit the free installation and operation of a pump regularly built <br /> for 8" I.D. casing. <br /> 19 <br />
