17 August 2006 <br /> AGE-NC Project No. 01-0827 <br /> Page 2 of 2 <br /> IMPACTED WELL DESTRUCTION PROCEDURES <br /> For impacted wells, and those in an area of known or suspected contamination, Section 13.17.6. of <br /> the Standards will be followed for destruction procedures. Wells will be drilled-out to their total <br /> depth utilizing 8-inch diameter hollow-stem augers.All original well construction materials will be <br /> removed (including well casing, screen, filter pack, and annular seal) to ensure that no residual <br /> contamination is sealed within the abandoned borehole. The remaining borehole will.then be <br /> backfilled to surface grade with neat cement and covered with concrete or asphalt. <br /> I <br /> WASTE MANAGEMENT <br /> Any waste generated during the abandonment procedures,including rinse water,will be placed into <br /> 5 <br /> 55-gallon DOT drums and stored along the north side of the theater building pending disposal. <br /> Drums will be disposed within 30 days of abandonment. <br /> REPORT PREPARATION <br /> Upon conclusion of the procedures,a brief report.will'.be prepared summarizing the field work.
