Stockton, California AGS 38009-2 <br /> The site is located within the Eastern San Joaquin County Ground-Water Basin, as defined <br /> by the California Department of Water Resources(1980). The topographic surface is nearly <br /> flat with a slight westward slope. There are two surface streams near the site: Mormon <br /> Slough approximately 500 r.;et to the southwest and the eastward extension of the Stockton <br /> Deep Water Chaanel (including MacLeod Lake) approximately 2,000 feet to the north and <br /> northwest. Both bodies of slater empty into the San Joaquin River approximately 2 miles <br /> downstream from the site. According to the San Joaquin County Public Works Department <br /> and the City of Stockton Municipal Utilities Department, the regional ground-water flow <br /> direction is to.the east-southeast: The site is approximately 15 feet above mean sea level <br /> (U.S. Geological Survey, 1976). <br /> PROXIMITY TO WELLS AND u;r.LITIES <br /> Ground-water resources within the San Joaquin basin are intensive!y developed for <br /> irritation, domestic, industrial,municipal, and stack use. Numerous orate supply wells are <br /> near the site. Data obtained from the California Department of Water Resources <br /> concerning these wells are presented in Table 1, and the locations of the wells are depicted <br /> on the Site Vicinity Map (Plate P-1).
