CVAT C
• A S S O C I A T E S I N C
Vaipor and Groundwater Sample Collection and Analysis
Vapor samples will be collected through a 1/4-inch Teflon sample line connected to a stainless steel
wellhead fitting, and will be collected in Tedlar sample bags Teflon tubing will be used to minimize
sample loss through adsorption and the possibility of distorted results from sample lines contanunated
by previous test runs Groundwater samples will be collected using dedicated disposable bailers The
samples will be sent to Sequoia Analytical for analysis of TPHg and BTEX using EPA Methods
8015/8020 A chain-of-custody record will accompany all samples delivered to the laboratory
Report Preparation
Upon completion of all field activities, a summary report will be prepared for submittal to
PHS/EHD Utilizing induced vacuum and distance measurements obtained during the pilot test, an
effective radius of influence will be estimated for the vapor wells at the site The effective radius of
influence has been defined as the radial distance from a vapor extraction well at which recorded
vacuum levels suggest that subsurface air flow occurs and is presumed to be sufficient for remediation
Analytical results of vapor and groundwater samples and field measurements obtained during the pilot
test will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of vapor extraction and air sparging as potential remedial
alternatives
All work described in this workplan will be performed under the direction of a California
Registered Professional Engineer
Projected Schedule
Once approval of tlus workplan has been received, ATC will schedule field activities It is
anticipated the pilot test will be completed in one day and the pilot test has been tentatively
scheduled for October 1998 ATC will notify SJVUAPCD and PHS/EHD at least 48 hours prior
to beginning any field activities The summary report will be submitted to PHS/EHD
approximately four to five weeks after the completion of field activities
r
w 162574162574 011943671veswkp doc 4
