10 April 2002
AGE-NC Project No 01-0827
Soil-vapor samples were collected to document trends in concentrations of hydrocarbon vapor m the
soil-vapor extracted by the SVE network and to determine the treatment system hydrocarbon
destruction rate Soil-vapor samples from the influent and effluent stream were collected in Tedlar
I vapor bags on 10 December 2001, 10 January and 18 February 2002 The samples were labeled,
placed in apre-chilled cooler and transported under chain-of-custodyto McCampbell Analytical,Inc
(MAI), a State of California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified analytical laboratory
' The samples were analyzed for
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) and diesel (TPH-d) in
' accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified and
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) and methyl tertiary butyl ether
' (MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 8020,
The results of the laboratory analysis are summarized in Table 2
1
. 2 2 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
' On 11 January2002 a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in

' ground water monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-5, vapor wells VW-1, VW-2, VW-3, VW5s
(shallow),VW-5d(deep)and remediation well RW-1 After groundwater depth measurements were
recorded, a minimum of three well casing-water volumes of ground water were purged from wells
MW-I,MW-3,MW-5,VW-1,VW-2,VW-5S and VW-5D The monitoring wells were purged using
a pre-cleaned two-stage submersible pump, the vapor wells were purged using a pre-cleaned
disposable, dedicated polyethylene bailer
' After ground water depth measurements were recorded from well RW-1, a bomb sampler was used
to collected a sample from the base of the well Then a minimum of three well casing-water volumes
' of ground water were purged from the well using a pre-cleaned grundfos submersible pump After
well RW-1 was purged,a bomb sampler was used to collected a second sample from the base of the
well
' Temperature, pH, and conductivity were measured at regular intervals using an Oakton water
analyzer Purged water was temporarily stored on-site in 55-gallon drums The field data sheets are
' included in Appendix A
i
' Advanced GeoEnvuonmental,Inc
1
