Michael Infurna , Jr.
August 21, 2002
(TPH-g, BTEX, fuel oxygenates) will be analyzed using EPA Method 8260. Methods may vary
per laboratory.
INVESTIGATION-DERIVED WASTE (IDW)
Waste material; such as soil from drilling, water from cleanup, and used materials and supplies;
will be generated during field investigation activities. IDW will be collected and stored in steel,
55-gallon drums at the Site. Each waste stream(soil, water, sludge, and other solid materials)
will be segregated and stored separately. Drums will be labeled with the date and type of
accumulated IDW, and will be stored in a designated area at the Site until the waste material is
sufficiently profiled to facilitate disposal.
SITE CONTROL AND DECONTAMINATION PROCEDURES
Control of the working area during Site investigations will be accomplished using cones and
barricade tape. Persons not directly involved with field investigation activities will not be
allowed within exclusion zones defined by the barriers.
Equipment brought to and used at the Site will be clean prior to introduction to work areas.
Between sample locations and sampling intervals, sampling equipment will be cleaned to prevent
cross-contamination between samples. Decontamination of equipment will be accomplished by
initially washing the equipment with a non-phosphate, laboratory-grade detergent, double rinsing
in potable water, and a final rinse with distilled water. Decontamination of equipment will be
performed in an established exclusion zone at the Site. No materials will be allowed to enter
storm drain inlets.
Materials used at the Site will be new and free of residual petroleum and other organic chemical
products.
SITE RESTORATION
Following completion of field work, work areas will be cleaned and restored to as close to
original condition as feasible. Loose debris will be removed, as well as discoloration, as
reasonable. The surface of sealed borings will be finished in a fashion approximating the
surrounding surface.
3023-03/104700.4766.230/AUG2 1'02
