BASELINE ASSESSMENT REPORT
Site Number 11194
2375 Tracy Boulevard
Tracy, California
4. Supplemental Site Assessment Work
EMCON personnel conducted supplemental assessment activities at the site on November 17,
1994 These activities consisted of advancing three exploratory soil borings (THP-1 through
THP-3) to 13 feet bgs by using CPT equipment, and collecting soil and groundwater samples
from the borings In addition, EMCON collected a groundwater sample from two UST
complex observation wells, and collected grab samples from beneath three of the four fuel
dispensers (Figure A-1) THP-1 was advanced north of the UST complex, THP-2 was
advanced between the UST complex and the western pump island, and THP-3 was advanced
north of the northwest corner of the station budding CPT equipment was used to collect soil
samples from each boring HydroPunchTM equipment was used to collect groundwater
samples from each boring
Soil types encountered during boring activities primarily consisted of gravel and sandy gravel to
the total depths explored, sandy silt was encountered from 10 to 12 feet bgs in THP-2
Groundwater was encountered at approximately 8 feet bgs A PID was used to screen soil
samples collected from each boring A reading of 101 ppm was rzleasured from a soil sample
collected from THP-2 at 11 feet bgs Because of the gravelly nature of the subsurface
lithology, collection of soul samples was considerably limited Consequently, analyses for soil
samples from THP-1 through THP-3 were not performed
Groundwater samples collected from each boring were submitted for TPH-G, TPH-D,
TPH-O, BTEX, and HVOC analyses Laboratory results indicated that the sample from
THP-2 contained TPH-G (5,800 ppb), TPH-D (2,500 ppb), TPH-O (340 ppb), benzene
(14 ppb), ethylbenzene (77 ppb), and total xylenes (51 ppb) (Table A-1) The samples from
THP-i and THP-3 contained TPH-O (540 ppb and 300 ppb, respectively) Components
eluting in the range of mineral spirits (160 ppb) were detected in the groundwater sample
collected from THP-2 HVOCs were not detected in the groundwater samples from soil
borings
. $fMS/RPTI11194RPTd12 941JU/smw 6 Rev 0 02103195
0952-09203
1
