LABORATORY ANALYSIS OF SOIL AND GRAB GROUND WATER SAMPLES
The grab ground water sample and selected soil samples were transported under chain-of-custody
1 procedures to Cal Tech Environmental Laboratories, a California Department of Health Services
(DHS)-certified laboratory, for analyzed for:
' • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Method 8015 Modified; and
• Benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene and xylenes(BTEX)and methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE)
1 in accordance with EPA Method 8021.
• The fuel additives MTBE, di-isopropyl ether (D1PE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE),
1 tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME),tertiary butanol(TBA),ethylene dibromide(EDB)and
1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA Method 8260B.
' In addition, ground water sample B 1 was analyzed for volatile organic compounds utilizing full scan
EPA Method 8260. Soil samples from B-2 and B-3 were analyzed for total oil and grease (TOG)in
accordance with EPA Methods 418.1.
1
2.5. EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION
1 All probing rods used were cleaned prior to advancement in each probe boring location. The
sampling equipment was washed in an Alconox solution and rinsed with water prior to each
' sampling run to avoid cross-contamination.
1 2.6. BOREHOLE ABANDONMENT
At the conclusion of soil boring activities, the borings were permanently sealed to prevent vertical
1 migration of contaminants. Under EHD oversight, the borehole was backfilled with cement slurry
from the total depth to surface grade.
3.0. FINDINGS
1 Soil descriptions and ground water elevation determined from field data. Petroleum hydrocarbon
impact to soil and ground water was determined through laboratory analysis of the soil and ground
water samples.
1 Advanced GeoEnvironmen[al,Inc.
1
